Eastern Edit didn’t begin with a business plan.

It began with a question.

Why were some of Pakistan’s finest artisans, whose hands carried generations of knowledge, still struggling to make ends meet?

The answer led us to South Punjab, where extraordinary craftsmanship quietly lived inside homes and small villages. Women and men spent countless hours creating breathtaking hand embroidery, yet many earned only a few hundred rupees for work that demanded immense patience, precision and years of skill.

One artisan’s story changed everything.

She had spent years embroidering beautiful pieces by hand, but after days of work she would make a profit of barely PKR 300. Her craft deserved far more than survival.

Instead of asking her to work harder, we changed the way her work reached people. We focused on thoughtful design, quality, storytelling and fair value. The very first pieces we developed together increased her earnings to nearly PKR 1,000 per piece.

Today, she earns more than ten times what she once did.

The transformation wasn’t because her hands became more skilled, they always were.

The world simply began to recognise the value they had always held.

That single story became the foundation of Eastern Edit.

Today, every Eastern Edit collection carries the spirit of Pakistan’s artisan heritage. From intricate Kora Dabka, Tarkashi, Resham, Sheesha Patri, Sindhi Taanka, Kashmiri Taanka, pearls and delicate hand embellishments, every piece is handcrafted with patience and pride by skilled artisans across Pakistan.

But our purpose has always extended beyond creating luxury hand embroidered clothing.

We are building dignity through craftsmanship.

We believe that opportunity should never depend on gender. Eastern Edit proudly works with both women and men, creating a workplace where talent is valued above everything else. Whether it’s an artisan, tailor, pattern maker, finisher or designer, every individual is respected for the craft they bring to the table. Our commitment is simple: equal opportunity, equal respect and fair livelihoods for everyone.

As our artisans grew, so did their confidence.

Their work began reaching customers across Pakistan and beyond. What was once unseen craftsmanship became recognised as wearable art. That recognition eventually led to collaborations with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), where the contribution of our artisans and our mission to preserve Pakistan’s embroidery heritage received national appreciation.

For many of our artisans, that recognition meant more than an award or a certificate.

It was the first time someone had publicly acknowledged that their craft mattered.

The pride on their faces reminded us why Eastern Edit exists.

Every recognition we receive belongs first to the hands that created it.

Eastern Edit continues to work towards preserving the disappearing embroidery traditions of South Punjab while introducing them to a new generation through contemporary silhouettes. We believe luxury should carry meaning. Every stitch represents hours of dedication. Every motif carries a story. Every garment preserves a tradition that deserves to survive.
